Find the cause before you choose the fix
Surface damage usually comes down to one of six causes: too little air in the mix, weak concrete, the wrong mix, heavy de-icer on a young slab, a poor finish, or too little curing. Each points to a different repair. A replacement poured to the same recipe will fail the same way, and you will pay twice for one lesson.
Ready to ask about your slab?
Ask the contractor which cause they think they are looking at, and how they know. Light scaling can be left alone. Scaling that keeps spreading may mean the slab is beyond repair, and a straight answer to that question is worth more than a low price.
