Why a new drive cracks where the old one did
NRMCA sets joint spacing at 24 to 36 times slab thickness, about 10 feet on a 4 inch slab, with 15 feet as the ceiling, on panels shaped like a square or near it. Long, narrow panels, or none at all, let the stress build until the slab breaks where it likes.
Book the introduction first.
Before you agree to a repair or a pour, ask for a joint plan on a sketch. Count the joints on it and compare the panel sizes with those figures. A quote with no joint plan is a quote that leaves the cracks to chance.
Ask the contractor to say what cuts the joints and when. Ask when the joints will be cut, and put that date on the same page as the plan.

The middle Manlius house was built in 1972, and 61.7 percent of town homes predate 1980. Inside the village the middle house dates from 1968, with 80.1 percent built before 1980. A drive from those decades may have fewer joints than current practice asks for, and its base may be thinner than you would want.
