Water is the cheapest way to ruin a pour
A wet, soupy load is a weak one. NRMCA wants most slabs placed stiff, at 3 to 5 inches of slump, and never thinned with site water, because added water weakens the surface mortar. Stand at the curb while the truck unloads and see whether anyone opens a hose.
Put a line in your scope that no water gets added to the load. Then ask who will be on site, so you know whom to ask if it happens anyway.
A written scope can also name the finish. A broom finish serves most outdoor surfaces, and steel troweling while water still sits on top can make the surface peel. Ask which finish is planned and why.

Owners, renters and the age of the slab
